Being centrally situated, Medolino offers a wide variety of activities and things to do outside of the park. Port Alfred has a variety of shops, Rosehill Mall with 52 stores and a small cinema, Pick 'n pay, Kwikspar, homoeopath , doctors, chemists, butcheries, hardware stores, gift shops as well as several restaurants in the area.
Sporting enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of river sports on the beautiful Kowie River which runs through the village. It is navigable for 28kms. Explore the river by paddle-ski, canoe or boat or hike along the banks of the river. Ideal for tranquill fishing and waterskiing in the demarcated areas. For the not-so-adventurous, hire a pedalo and pedal around the harbour on the Marina or enjoy a sunset cruise up the river on the Kowie Queen or hire your own boat.
Medolino is a 3 wood from the golf course, which is one of the four Royals in SA and all visitors are welcome. Tennis, Squash and Bowls are all available in town.
